Employment Registration Drive and Career Guidance Session (ST Hostel)

“Empowering Tribal Youth through Guidance, Opportunities, and Awareness”

Overview:

As part of Project Udyogjyothi, the District Administration, Kozhikode, in collaboration with the Tribal Development Office and the District Employment Exchange, organized an employment registration drive, career guidance session, and anti-drug awareness programme at the Pre-Matric Hostel, Easthill, on 20th August. The initiative, inaugurated by the District Collector, aimed to empower Scheduled Tribe students by enhancing employability, providing guidance on career opportunities, and creating awareness on the importance of leading a drug-free life. Students from various Scheduled Tribe hostels across Kozhikode actively participated in the event.

Activities / Programs: 

• Employment Registration Drive: Conducted by staff from all employment exchanges across Kozhikode, registering tribal students for employment services.

• Career Guidance Session: Expert-led session introducing students to diverse career opportunities and employability pathways.

• Anti-Drug Awareness Programme: Interactive session highlighting the dangers of substance abuse and encouraging a drug-free lifestyle.

Outcome:

• Enhanced awareness among tribal students on career opportunities and services offered by the Employment Exchange.

• Increased employability prospects through on-site registration drives.

• Strengthened awareness of substance abuse dangers among hostel students.

• Fostered youth empowerment through collaborative engagement by the District Administration, hostels, and DCIP interns.
