HR Managers’ Conclave

Overview:

The HR Managers’ Conclave, held as part of the Udyog Jyothi project, was organized by the Kozhikode District Administration under the leadership of District Collector Shri Snehil Kumar Singh IAS to strengthen the link between academia and industry. Jointly hosted with the Malabar Chamber of Commerce, Calicut Innovation & Technology Initiative, Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission, Employment Centre, and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence, the conclave was organized at the Malabar Chamber Hall, Kozhikode. It aimed to bridge the critical skill gap in the regional talent pool. By fostering collaboration between HR leaders, educators, and policymakers, the initiative focused on enhancing student employability, tackling language proficiency, and creating a sustainable culture of skill development and professional readiness.

Activities / Programs:

  • HR Heads were invited to share their perspectives on the employability challenges and industry requirements.

  • Strategy building for placement infrastructure and skill-focused electives.

  • Workshops on language proficiency and soft skills development.

  • Formation of a working group comprising HR Directors and academic leaders to drive follow-up action.


Outcome / Impact:

  • Formation of a unified action plan for employability enhancement.

  • Secured commitments from industry for mentorship and practical training initiatives.

  • Clear road map to establish placement cells in 100% of major technical colleges within the next academic year.

  • Target to reduce the industry–academia skill gap by 30% in the first year.

  • Strengthened institutional capacity for career readiness and continuous professional growth.
