National Youth Day "Empowering Youth, celebrating Tomorrow"

The National Youth Day celebration, hosted under the guidance of District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh IAS, aimed to promote democratic participation and electoral literacy among college students, ensuring that every eligible voter is informed, registered, and empowered to contribute to an inclusive electoral process.

Voter Education: Interactive sessions on voter registration processes, EVMs, and VVPAT usage.
Student-led Campaigns: Promoting ethical and informed voting across campuses through campaigns and activities like Flash Mobs, Face Painting, and Opinion Surveys.
Inclusivity Drives: Extending voter registration efforts to Scheduled Tribe populations, coastal areas, and differently-abled students, in collaboration with NSS.
Vote Utsavam - Organized on National Youth Day by the District Administration, SVEEP Kozhikode, District Election Literacy Club (Colleges), and the Calicut University Kozhikode District NSS Team at Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College. This event engaged students and the public with a wide range of activities, including Speech Competition, Spot Quiz, Open Mic, Young Voters’ March, Sample Survey, Election Campaigns, Voter Registration (Portal Registration), and Flash Mob.
Outcome:
Increased youth voter registrations and enhanced awareness about electoral processes among students.
Strengthened student leadership in electoral literacy initiatives through ELC Executive Committees.
Elevated Kozhikode’s Electoral Literacy Clubs as a national benchmark for effective youth engagement in democratic participation.
