Objective:

Raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and challenge deep-rooted taboos surrounding menstruation by creating an inclusive, stigma-free environment through mass participation and community dialogue.

Activities/Programs:

  • Night run on Menstrual Hygiene Day to symbolize empowerment and visibility for menstrual health

  • Awareness campaigns including debates, cycle rallies, flash mobs, and poster-making competitions.

  • Interactive social media challenges that engaged a wider audience beyond the physical event.

  • Active involvement of NSS, NCC, Kudumbasree, and Anganwadi workers in organizing and spreading the message.


Outcome:

  • Significantly increased awareness on menstrual hygiene and dismantling of menstrual taboos.

  • Fostered community dialogue and empowered participants to carry the message within their networks.

  • Created an inclusive and supportive environment for women’s health through mass participation and digital engagement.

  • DCIP interns played a key role in managing logistics and executing the awareness campaign, ensuring widespread impact.
