Old Age Home Beautification "Brightening Lives: A Collaborative Renovation for Dignified Living"

The Vellimadukunnu Old Age Home renovation and beautification project, hosted under the guidance of District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh IAS, aimed to enhance the safety, hygiene, and overall well-being of elderly residents through a volunteer-driven initiative.

Key Highlights:

Activities/Programs: 

• Painting of walls, window railings, and refurbishing 17 old cupboards. 

• Replacing broken tiles, improving lighting, and cleaning dumping areas for enhanced safety. 

• Distribution of five new cots from the District Collectorate to support elderly inmates.

Outcome:

• Significantly improved living conditions and aesthetics of the Old Age Home, ensuring a safer and more cheerful environment for residents.

• Demonstrated effective collaboration between the District Administration, educational institutions, private sponsors, and community volunteers.

• Achieved high resident satisfaction and created a memorable volunteer experience that showcased the impact of collective community action.
