Brave the Pandemic, Not the Panic
Overview:
The campaign, conducted under the guidance of District Collector Shri S. Sambasiva Rao IAS, focused on countering misinformation and providing reliable medical guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Launched on May 21, 2021—the memorial day of Nurse Lini Puthussery—the initiative honored her legacy of selfless healthcare service. It was designed as a live series in collaboration with eminent doctors from the Government Medical College, Kozhikode, and other hospitals. Topics were announced in advance through the District Collector’s official Facebook page, and viewers could post their queries, which were answered directly by the doctors during the sessions. Serving as an authoritative online platform during the peak of the second wave, the series clarified public doubts, provided evidence-based knowledge, and embodied Sister Lini’s spirit of preparedness and dedication while addressing fears of a potential third wave and emerging threats such as Black Fungus.
