Happy Hill
Background
The Happy Hill Project, part of the Nammude Kozhikode Initiative by District Administration under the leadership of S. Sambasiva Rao IAS, is a collaboration between the Kozhikode District Administration, Social Justice Department (SJD), and Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) focused on providing vocational training, infrastructure improvements, and dignified rehabilitation for welfare home residents, partnering with local educational institutions.
The Happy Hill Project is an initiative designed to provide comprehensive care and development to welfare home residents through an integrated approach. It aims to empower marginalized sections by converging services, resources, and infrastructure. The project focuses on building a dignified community, offering vocational training for self-employment and enhancing infrastructure. Collaborating with educational institutions, it supplements rehabilitation efforts, ensuring residents regain dignity, re-integrate into society, and achieve personal growth. The initiative includes educational programs, skill development, and cultural activities. DCIP interns actively contribute by developing project reports, organizing workshops, liasioning with colleges, and cultural events, fostering empowerment.
