Background

Udyogjyothi is a career empowerment initiative launched by the Kozhikode District Administration under District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh IAS to bridge the gap between education and employment. The program focuses on equipping youth with essential skills, career guidance, and exposure needed to succeed in a dynamic job market. The initiative reaches out to college students, recent graduates, and marginalized communities, ensuring opportunities are accessible to all, with a special focus on women, PwDs, and SC/ST communities.

Udyogjyothi aims to build a dynamic career ecosystem by equipping youth with the tools and skills needed to confidently enter the workforce. The initiative focuses on skill development, career counseling, and forging connections with industry partners to enhance employability. In collaboration with the Malabar Chamber of Commerce and CITI 02, and through partnerships with regional industries, training centers, and government programs like the Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS), Udyogjyothi helps youth explore diverse career pathways. Interns collaborated with colleges and industry to conduct a comprehensive survey assessing the status of placement cells. They were actively involved in mapping specific job requirements and identifying relevant schemes to address the unique employment needs of marginalized sections. The program prioritizes inclusive growth, ensuring marginalized groups have equal access to career opportunities and skill-building resources, thus contributing to sustainable development in Kozhikode.

Inclusive Youth Engagement: Actively engages all youth, ensuring equal opportunities for everyone, without discrimination.
Skill Development & Industry Partnerships: Collaborates with regional industries to provide real-world exposure and job opportunities for students.
Digital Integration: Onboards students to the DWMS platform for access to job openings, internships, and training programs.
Youth-Led Facilitation: DCIP interns provided support in the onboarding process for DWMS and assisted with human resource needs whenever required, ensuring efficient coordination and outreach.
Holistic Career Support: Offers workshops on resume writing, soft skills, interview prep, and job readiness.
